DAY 7

THE POWER OF OWNERSHIP

No one is you and that is your power. (Unknown)

Sometime ago I read something that caught my attention: You are your greatest problem; you are your greatest solution. I saw a similar thought that essentially expressed that if you look in the mirror you will see your greatest problem, and if you look in the mirror, you will see your greatest solution.

The Power of Ownership is recognizing that you are the common denominator in whatever happens in your life, and if you want to experience a different reality, you will need to consult with the woman that you see in the mirror each day.

Many women are caught in the cycle of blame, even though sometimes warranted, that they never get out of. “I cannot do this because my husband, parents, or friends do not support me in making this move”. “I cannot do this because it is not an acceptable thing for women in the church to do”. “I cannot do this because my culture does not support women in that role.” And the list of what we call reasons are actually excuses that serve as obstacles and barriers.

The Power of Ownership puts you in the drivers’ seat. It is you taking charge of the wheel and recognizing that you do not need permission or validation from anyone to do what you have been called to do by God.

When you harness the power of ownership, you refuse to blame or make and accept excuses. Instead, you will live consciously aware of how you (your thoughts, feelings, and actions) influence what you do and don’t do.

Ownership will prevent you from feeling like a victim, allowing you to realize that in everything (even when you think it is not the case), you have a choice.

  • Practice the power of choice and begin to practice taking ownership by stating “I choose to…” or, “I choose not to…

DAY 6

THE POWER OF CONFIDENCE

If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence, you have won before you have started. (Marcus Garvey)

An article written by Katty Kay and Claire Shipman for The Atlantic, reports on what is called the Confidence Gap. The Confidence Gap reports on evidence which “shows that women are less self-assured than men—and that to succeed, confidence matters as much as competence.” As such, they suggest that for too long, women have played by the rules, working hard believing that they would be recognized and rewarded for their natural talents.

But, for you to step into the confidence that you need to have to succeed, you must be willing to step outside the box, to do what has never been done (to break the rules if you must), knowing that you can do all things through Christ (Philippians 4:13)

The problem is not that you lack ability, skill, talent, education, or know-how, it is that you are doubting that you are right for the task. You may unconscious believe that you are not perfect for the job, or that you are Divinely designed for your calling or purpose; but the truth is, no one else in the world can do what you have been called to do as effectively as you can.

That is why having confidence in yourself and your calling is key for you as you break glass ceilings, forge new paths, break rules and recreate new ones, and do things that has never been done before in your family, circle of friends, or community.

CONFIDENCE PRACTICES DAY 6:

  • Write three go-to affirmations that you will use every time you begin to doubt that you could do what you know you can do. Use this as your positive self-talk.
  • Do activities that boost your self-confidence in other areas (e.g. exercising to achieve your ideal weight, dressing to impress, getting much-needed rest, surrounding yourself with like-minded people, etc.).
  • Have a plan of action to face your fears.

DAY 5

THE POWER OF CONSISTENCY

“Success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness will come.” – Dwayne Johnson

There is a phrase, “consistent action leads to consistent results.” Many women however give up on their dreams—owning their own business, ministries, and brands—because things did not work out how they expected that it would the first time they started.

They do that because they are missing one key ingredient to success—consistency.

Anthony Robbins said “It’s not what we do occasionally that shapes our lives. It’s what we do consistently.” Consistency is simply the act of repeating an action long enough for you to master it and get the results that you desire. It can be paralleled to forming the habit of doing something to reach a particular goal.

No one honestly believes that he/ she can go to the gym one day and lose 50 lbs., gain all the muscle fat that they desire, lose the inches that they want off their waistline, and tone their bodies overnight. But, if you take consistent intentional action (what one of my coaches refers to as CIA), you will get the results that you desire.

CONSISTENCY PRACTICES DAY 5:

  • Create a quiet space to think, to pause from thinking—meditate, pray and receive guidance from God.
  • Practice doing and focusing on one thing at a time. That means you will need to eliminate distractions as much as possible so that you can accomplish your goals.
  • Begin to journal your thoughts, feelings, revelations, etc., and write (your desires, your wants, your needs, etc.)

DAY 4

THE POWER OF CLARITY

“It’s a lack of clarity that creates chaos and frustration. Those emotions are poison to any living goal.”  (Steve Maraboli)

Nothing is more painful than to interact with women who do not have clarity about who they are, why they are here in the world, know what they are meant to do, and as a result, have stopped dreaming about living the life that they have been destined for.

Having Clarity about you, your life, and what you are meant to do is key in being able to live the life that you always dreamed about—happy, joyful, fulfilled, peaceful. Why? Because if you have no clarity, you will not know where to aim.

3 reasons why clarity is important for you:

  1. It will increase your confidence in what you are doing.
  2. You can attain your goals much quicker because you have clarity on what goals to set and how to achieve them).
  3. It will decrease frustration and doubt so that you can be more motivated because you are focused on the right thing/s.

DAY 3

THE POWER OF HAVING PLAN

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV)

Benjamin Franklin, Founding Father of the United States shared this profound statement—“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” The truth is planning is important to your success and you cannot plan without a vision.

Visioning is having a clear target of where you want to go, and then creating steps to get you to that destination. Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”

So first, you visualize what you desire to do (based on God’s revelation of your purpose) and create your plan to get there. The truth is, your plan is like a Global Positioning System (GPS), that will take you from your present location to your destination, with stops along the way (your performance indicators or measurements that tells you how close you are to your goals.

In essence, it is the small steps or actions that will allow you to reach your goals.

PLAN PRACTICES DAY 3:

  • Begin to take note of the things that light your soul on fire (simply the things that you are always excited to do; or causes that you feel naturally drawn to; or people that you feel almost obligated to serve).
  • Zero in on what you believe you are called to do and pray about ways in which you can live out your purpose.
  • Make a promise to yourself daily to continue to pursue your purpose and live it out.

DAY 2

THE POWER OF YOUR DIVINE PURPOSE

If you have not found your purpose in life it is almost not worth living (Dr. Nadine Collins)

“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it” ― Buddha

Every WOW woman recognizes the power that lies in her living a life that is aligned with her Divine Purpose. She is ready to give up any and everything that does not lead her to her purpose, nor allow her to serve in her purpose because it is the only way that she can experience true peace, fulfillment, and joy.

That’s why uncovering your Divine Purpose is the second-best thing that you can do.

Suppose you go to sleep tonight, and while you are asleep, a miracle happens. You wake up in the morning, and you are "living in your true purpose" doing something you’ve always dreamt that you would be doing, or something that you have always secretly desired to do.

DAY 1

THE POWER OF PRAYER

Most of us spend our lives trying to figure things out on our own. We engage in the activity of prayer, but rarely do we realize the inherent power and potential that resides in it when it comes to having a WOW Life Experience every day.

We sometimes depend on our education and experience, talents and skills, positions and influence, all good things, but what is most important is knowing, understanding, and experiencing the number 1 power—prayer.

Prayer is powerful. It is resourceful. It is a guiding tool. Prayer is a practical approach to living a life that is fulfilling, successful, impactful, and peaceful.

When you discover the unlimited power of prayer, you will learn how to depend on God—the highest power—to be your guiding light.

PRAYER PRACTICES DAY 1:

  • Have specific times to meet with God daily.
  • Have a quiet place where you can spend time with God without interruptions (quiet your mind by practicing putting your worries aside, turn off the phone or all notifications, and, read the word of God as part of your prayer time.
  • Spend time asking God what you should focus on or what you need to be doing.
